Welcome to Playa! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our mobile application and services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Playa, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

2. User Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Playa. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. User Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Playa is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized use.

4. User Conduct

You agree to use Playa only for lawful purposes and not to: harass, abuse, or harm other users; post inappropriate, offensive, or misleading content; use the App for illegal purposes; or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.

5. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

6. Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit. By posting content to Playa, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the App.

7. In-Person Interactions & Disclaimer

Playa facilitates social connections but does not screen or verify users' identities, backgrounds, or intentions. You are solely responsible for any in-person interactions with others. By using Playa, you acknowledge that you meet others at your own risk; Playa is not responsible for any harm, loss, or injury arising from user interactions; and you should take precautions such as meeting in public places and informing someone of your plans.

8. User Verification Disclaimer

Any verification feature offered is for informational purposes only. Playa does not guarantee the authenticity or safety of any user.

9. Safety Guidelines

We encourage public meetups, sharing your plans with friends or family, and trusting your judgment and ending uncomfortable interactions.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Playa and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Playa and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including inability to use the App, conduct or content of other users, in-person meetings or outcomes, or unauthorized access to your account or data. Playa is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to the Playa community.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any legal action must be filed in a court located in California.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of Playa after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
